Tasting and pairing

Audio file

The next panel shows us the different phases of a wine tasting and the parameters of our wines in the visual, olfactory, and gustatory phases. Visitors should try to identify the nuances of an Albariño wine, as well as a white Condado wine.

Continuing our tour, we come to a large display case showcasing many of the brands produced in our subzone. These are all wines from the Condado do Tea D.O. Rías Baixas.

First, we see the white Condado wines, which are multi-varietal wines made primarily with Albariño and Treixadura grapes, although it is common to also add a small amount of Loureira grapes to the blend.

Next, we see the wines made exclusively with Albariño grapes, which are therefore single-varietal wines.

On the third shelf, we have special winemaking techniques, such as wines fermented in barrels or on lees, special vintages, and organically produced wines.

Finally, on the bottom shelf, we can see the Condado reds, wines that are gradually gaining popularity in the market and which the great Álvaro Cunqueiro described in his renowned work "A Cociña Galega" as the best Galician reds he had ever tasted.

Continuing our tour, we come across another set of questions. This time, the questions revolve around pairing Albariño and Condado white wines with various gastronomic products.

Next, we can appreciate the aromatic nuances of our white wines in a series of fragrance dispensers, ranging from citrus and floral notes to stone fruit aromas. We can then appreciate these fragrant notes during the tasting and delight in the evocative aroma of our wines.
